HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR WEBSITE COLOR PALETTE
If you are feeling stuck with which colors to include in your website color palette, donβt worry! Here are some easy steps you can take to find your perfect color palette:
Get Inspiration - Explore websites and create a moodboard; take note of which colors you really like.
Palette Creation - Create a Canva file with 5 squares. In the squares, add 1 dominant color, 1 accent color, 1 neutral color, 1 light color like white, 1 dark color like black. *Tip: Adjust the hue of each color you want to use to make it unique, donβt just choose the default colors you see in Canva.* Type the Hex color code under each square for each color. (Find the code by hovering over the color on the left of your Canva color menu.)
Update Your Website - In your Squarespace website editor, edit the Site Styles color palette by pasting in the Hex color codes for each of your colors.
Evaluation - How does your site look with itβs new palette? Make any adjustments as needed. *Note: Keep accessibility in mind for those who are visually impaired and make sure your text color is easy to read on your background color. Use this free tool to check your color accessibility! Ask others to look at your site and provide feedback on the color palette.
